Betting Group Launches Protest Actions

By Ryan Conley
Monday August 27, 9:54 AM
A group of bettors angered at the divisive state of advance deposit wagering has taken action by staging what it termed a “buycott” at a New Mexico racetrack, and also launched a protest Web site against a content provider.

The initial wagering protest involved focused betting on the Aug. 25 card at The Downs Racetrack & Casino at Albuquerque. The group claimed victory, saying its influence was felt in helping raise the off-track handle 78.6% to $126,057 from a $70,596 total recorded at the track Aug. 17.

I couldn't find it either, CH; may not be posted yet. Doc has connections at BH and Ryan may have sent him a copy via email as he filed the piece.

Should be up soon.

Great job to all involved and all that participated. That being said, it isn't juggular time yet. Lets see if a response comes from those involved. I think a track like Mountaineer would be a great one to support and with it being late afternoon/night races on a Monday/Tuesday, ALOT more people could possibly be involved.

The only thing that I think is needed is to include TVG in these conversations. They are the ones that started this mess, all Tracknet did was protect their investment to combat TVG.
