Video Surfaces of Cheney, in 1994, Warning That An Invasion of Iraq Would Lead to 'Quagmire'

By E&P / Editor & Publisher

NEW YORK It's not the first time that citizen "investigative journalists" have uncovered some embarrassing, or telling, nugget from the past that apparently remained buried for years. But it has happened again with the posting of a now wildly popular video on YouTube that shows Dick Cheney explaining in 1994 that trying to take over Iraq would be a "bad idea" and lead to a "quagmire."

1994??????

Things change in 8-9 years.
46, why don't you go back and see if you can find sometihing he said when he was in high school.

You are the most obsessive-compulsive troll I've ever seen.

You do realize that Bush controls your life, don't you?

Recorded interviews are still the same words out of the same mouths with reference to temporal comparisons.

A POS is still a POS years later.

46, you're so damned interested in what people said how about reporting on the speeches that several top dems gave about how Iraq was a threat, was pursuing nukes and must be dealt with. Hmmm?

Only one group of warmongers ever attacked and opened Pandora's box now did they? Particularly true with the clowns behind the attack are still out there plotting to do it again.

Hey Zilly, you don't think situations change over 10 years?
You forget, back in 1993, we had a militarty beind decimated by the idiot Clinton, who was busy facilitating the rise of Al Qeda.
Of course it would have been a different war back then.

The more you post, the stupider you look. Keep 'em coming, Brainiac!

On the advice of Albright, Clinton and Dean I suppose....or don't those count?

Howard Dean called Iraq (and Iran) OUTLAW STATES in 1998. If it's good enough for HOWARD DEAN, it's good enough for me.

Dean can call a country an OUTLAW STATE, and nobody on here ever pegged him a "Cowboy."

Funny how that works. Bush is the cowboy, and Dean is Mr. Democratic Party.

I love this country!

Only the rutabaga gang pulled the trigger and all hell broke loose.

The people responsible are sitting in their caves howling about it too, signing up more jihadist idiots.

Too bad Clinton and his group FAILED to act when they had the chance. Could have rpevented the whole thing, ut, like YOU, they sat in their caves unwilling to take a stand, just blowing smoke with no action.

zilly, yeah, all hell broke loose for Saddam and Al Qaeda. Saddam's dead, a bunch of terrorists are dead and the rest are running for their lives; meanwhile this country has been protected and with all hell,(as you put it)breaking loose this country is flourishing. I realize it makes you socialists mad; that's a good thing. Now the Dems are aligning themselves with a hate group known as the Daily Kos. The leader of that group said of some american contactors that got killed, "screw them." Some nice people to get in bed with, eh?

Still the clowns at the helm are still at large and elevated to almost martyr status and continue to inspire more idiots to take up the call.

Nothing has changed since the clowns went after the wrong people and thousands of poor fellows paid the price for that stupidity.
l Qaeda Leaders Seen in Control
Experts Say Radicals In London, Egypt May Have Followed Orders

By Craig Whitlock
Washington Post Foreign Service
Sunday, July 24, 2005

LONDON, July 23 -- The back-to-back nature of the deadly attacks in Egypt and London, as well as similarities in the methods used, suggests that the al Qaeda leadership may have given the orders for both operations and is a clear sign that Osama bin Laden and his deputies remain in control of the network, according to interviews with counterterrorism analysts and government officials in Europe and the Middle East.

I wonder if Darth Vader becomming Halliburton Honcho had anything to do with why Darth said "The problem is that the good Lord didn't see fit to always put oil and gas resources where there are democratic governments,"

Dean calls Iraq an OUTLAW STATE in 1998. What do we do with OUTLAW STATES? Reagan thought we should nuke them (jokingly). I say this present outcome is more than fair.

Seems that we have dueling videos going, where folks today aren't talking/acting the same as they did a number of years ago. Works the same way on both sides of the issue.

Ain't life grand?
