Any one know the name of the new PA track? Some guy told me today that theres a new track(I'm not sure if it's open yet or not) But he said its in or near Erie PA and aparantly Scott Lake has sent 30 some horses up to because he wants to be the top trainer at the new track. Any one have any idea of the track or any information about it?

Because they are running a short meeting this year, the purses are going to be outrageous. 5 claimers will be running for 24k purses.
They'll be lots of claiming and dropping going on.

They'll be lots of claiming and dropping going on.I don't think you will get more than one start this season. It will be difficult to get in IMHO.

The OTB opened about 10 days ago. I took a ride up to check it out. The clubhouse and betting areas were surprisingly very well thought out. No where near the slots, so no "ding, ding, ding" of the machines to bother you, like at Mountaineer, their parent company. Plenty of large flat screen TV's, a really nice long Las Vegas-type sports bar in the middle with plenty of flat screen TV's overhead. Invidiual flat screen TV's at the dining tables, that double as a tiny-tim, SAM machine. Quality set-up that horseplayers should enjoy.
The track was still under construction. The tapeta synthetic surface is in place. Workouts should begin sometime this week. I'm looking forward to going up to see some live racing next month.
The food was excellent in the clubhouse. Taking a walk thru the slots was also a nice surprise. Plenty of selections of all types of machines, all brand new.

Steve Asmussen, H. Graham Motion, John Servis, Todd Beattie, Scott Lake, Niall O' Callaghen, and Ben Perkins are some of the guys who recieved stalls.

The local newspaper has hired a real dummy to cover the meet.....yeah, that would be me.

I think this is going to take people by surprise what a cool meet this is going to be. Its an artificial surface, and at night. They'll run for about a month, returning next year for what I believe is a 5 month meet.

This could be a godsend for nighttime players, although I wish this track was on the West Coast, so I can play it late.

I would assume it will be carried by all the sites and betting outlets that carry Mountaineer.

I realize that, but there will be lots of 10's and 12.5's running for a nickel. Owners will get a chance of claiming some horses at half price. But I think you have to run one there before you can claim one.

That's the link to the entire month of carded races on their schedule.

Many bigger purses, especially in the first 4 days. One month long inaugural meet similar in duration to that of Keeneland and Fairplex.

It will draw a lot of attention as it's the first track I know of that will race over the TAPETA brand of synthetic surface. Of course, I could have missed another track that has this brand installed (I'm not certain).
