The Yahoo message board for MECA is saying basically the same thing. Hard to envision where MECA keeps it together.

meca just slightly postponing inevitable. brought back hodgson for review of strategic alternatives. he will report to board in sept. hey tom what other options you think you have in next 30 days. probably a smart cya move by frank just in case shareholders file against him. bnow he can say he tried everything. frank used the words drastic measures must be taken. he closed his beloved austrian cash sink. i guess they file in october before defrancis is due his money and sell tdn lrl pim and close ls. no mention of tracknet anywhere other than handle down at mec tracks. we wont have frank to kick around soon.

For those chortling, Frankie is sitting on a lot of valuable land in California, Baltimore and elsewhere. (The land in Laurel is problematic, as much of it sits in a 100-year flood plain.)

Tracks could metamorphose into shopping centers because of this. DO WE REALLY NEED ANOTHER FREAKING SHOPPING CENTER?????

"However, MEC also believes that the operating and regulatory environment in California needs to be improved and will continue to work with other stakeholders to ensure the long-term viability of horse racing in the state.”
In other words, blame everybody else for not having slots and shopping centers already and for having to have decent buildings o the SA backside.
They are closing their Austria racino- so Stronach cannot even calim stupidity for not knowing their customer base in CA!LOL!!
