Hi all. My wife and I had the pleasure of sitting in the booth for a race call with Tom Durkin at Saratoga last week. He took us out on the cat walk atop Saratoga to show us around and then into his "office". Certainly the best seat at the track. I complimented him on his memory and all the info he puts into a call. I particularly complimented his early pick-up of Street Sense in the Derby. He then amazed us with his preparation and accuracy of the call of the next race. The cost was a charitable donation of $100 per person to Backstretch Employee Service Team.

Its nice to hear from someone who did this.

Our other thread kind of went in the wrong direction.

What a wonderful cause! My compliments Tom, and I'm glad to hear that "tape" and his wife had a great time "experiencing" what we get to do on a daily basis.......:)

What's amazing about the Spa booth is that he has to take a few steps to the right to see the first turn. The booth is truly cramped amongst the support beams at Saratoga. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience!
