Bafferts 4.6 million $ colt Maimonides makes his debut in a 5 1/5f MSW. Ridden by Bejarano he should be bet down quite a bit. If the plans for this high $ colt include the BC a win is needed here to give him time to move forward. A Vindication colt out of Silvery Swan who is the Dam of El Corredor and Roman Ruler, the Derby next Spring could be the plan.

They scratched this colt opening day at Del Mar because of a temp I believe, not surprising he shows up at Saratoga considering how the poly has been treating baffert.

Abe and anybody else who follows up and coming two year olds, I found these little snippets on what folks are saying about this colt:)

BIG NEWS! (FOR ME ANYWAYS) TOMORROW AT SARATOGA!!!
Vindication's $4.6 million colt Maimonides is debuting! Out of Silvery Swan, the dam of El Corredor and Roman Ruler. Here are some sound bites about him-

***Really been looking forward to his debut. The $4.6m son of Vindication has been blistering the track in the mornings, and word has it that he's the real deal. We'll soon see

***Yes, he's the $4.6m Vindication colt and he's with Baffert. But Baffert or not, this guy is breathing fire in the mornings, on both dirt at SA and the all weather surface at HOL. Really looking forward to his debut.

***2 yo Beyers? If they included works, there's little doubt who would have the highest BSF from this past weekend:

MAIMONIDES 07/08/2007 HOL 5F :59.20 H G 1/70

Speaking of "Big M's" works:

06/28/2007 SA 5F :58.40 Dirt Fast H G 1/14
06/21/2007 SA 5F :59.40 Dirt Fast H
06/10/2007 SA 4F :46.40 Dirt Fast H
06/04/2007 SA 4F :46.60 Dirt Fast H
05/29/2007 SA 4F :48.20 Dirt Fast H
05/21/2007 SA 3F :36.40 Dirt Fast H

It may be worth noting that his last two works were from the gate.

***A very nice race by "Sarge". As a whole, the "Vindications" are looking good thus far, and we've yet to see Maimonides. Vindication himself had something one doesn't often see in a racehorse....the ability (versatility) to win from well back and also wire-to-wire. If some of his offspring possess that trait/capability, it will also be to their benefit.

***BB or not, Maimonides (Vindication x Silvery Swan) has certainly been lightning in the mornings. Notice too that his work earlier today was from the gate.

***
Dittos. Did you see Maimonides before he went to Baffert? By Vindication, he's a 1/2 to El Corredor and Roman Ruler, and word has it that he could be a very special horse. He's certainly been breathing fire in the mornings thus far:

Maimonides:
06/10/2007 SA 4F :46.40 Dirt Fast H
06/04/2007 SA 4F :46.60 Dirt Fast H
05/29/2007 SA 4F :48.20 Dirt Fast H
05/21/2007 SA 3F :36.40 Dirt Fast H
