I was interested in a sprint to route comparison between a horse’s total energy that is used in the first half of say their last race. Im assuming as a general rule sprinters use a larger percent of their energy to the half. Just wondering if you averaged 10,000 sprinters and 10,000 routers, what the average percent difference would be.

So you want energy expended at 3 furlongs Vs. 4 & 1/4 furlongs?

I'll get RIGHT back to ya'....

no hard and fast rules but, in general
sprints 69% plus at 4f
mile 1/16 varies by track but around 67.5-68.0% at 6f
mile 1/8 varies by track but around 67.2-67.9% at 6f

AVERAGING would not be a smart thing to do as differing surfaces vary tremendously. Babies are about 25% higher than older as well.
