Need to be careful about some of these posted prices for Tris and Supers as they can be inflated. In this case, the Tri pool was $55,170 so it does look like there was one $1.00 ticket that took the whole thing down. The Super pool was $26,283 so nobody got paid $194,415. Instead it looks like one ten cent super took the whole pool for $19,441.

Wow, looks like a Delaware race that didn't scratch out half the field.....ok, I'll stop the sarcasm now and direct my hate to the blue haired old lady that used her favorite numbers to win.

Not to defend Delaware, which has it's share of problems, but the field sizes and scratch problems have been better this season than in the past. From what I have read elsewhere, things have been "cleaned up" a little there. (Note: No need to list trainer win percentages---I said "a little". :) )

Why would they inflate the prices? Maybe I am misunderstand payouts. If the pool was 26,283 why would they say 194,415? I am just getting confused I guess.

Computers are easier to confuse than humans (the burden of being human). To keep the computers from getting confused, tracks have chosen to report payouts based on a standard bet, regardless of the size of the bet that actually won. I can't explain why they chose this method to report payouts (as opposed to just reporting odds for instance) but this isn't the first time I haven't been able to explain something done in the racing industry.

Another dumb question but do ten cent supers have there own pool or is it part of the regular super pool? Like how exactly do ten cent supers work?

They are part of the regular pool. They work the same as any other bet. If they post the $1 payoff and you hit it for 10 cents, you get 1/10 the payout.

Side note, when will racing do something as simple as standardizing the base amount of payoffs that are posted?

It would be nice to just show the odds of the winning combo and get rid of the base issue.

My bottom 3 rated runners in that one. Rare to see all 3 of them come in.

Gotta be a mistake --only 15,500 in pick 3 and DD pools combined---yet they saw fit to bet 196,000 grand into the super(in the 5th race no less) Hard to believe, but DRF chart does read that way. Calls for an inquiry if true.

Did you read the rest of the thread before posting this? It's clearly explained elsewhere.
