Race 5:
Pirate's Charm 20/1 ML-I saw this filly make her SoCal debut last out after breaking her maiden 2 starts back at GG. She ran a creditable 5th at 60/1 after rushing up from a slow start and held sway over her rival's until the top of the stretch and then hung tough until the 1/16th pole when the trip caught up to her. She's making the switch from dirt/cushion to the grass today and while her pedigree isn't Turf-tastic, it is good enough to say she won't hate it. She is also going from inside to mid-starting gate today and has shown the ability to wait and finish going 5.5 f at Stockton.
Victor Navarro makes the trip south again and is a good consistent rider up north.
