What did people like about the winner, Harley Quinn??

He had my highest pace rating (combination of pace and speed), but I wouldn't bet him at that low a price while unproven at the distance if I remember right.

Andi -- A few things that the horse had going for him.

1) Since the Aqu meet began 95% + winners are placed within a couple lengths of the lead at the 2call.

2) There were only 3 horse's in the field that like to run on or be part of the early pace. Brave-One and Financial Diplomat were the other two as Gratian and Impressionist were scratched, both of the scratched horse's are considered E and EP.

3) I felt Harley Quinn was ready to move forward( I marked him F+ for coming into form ) and the pace would not be too fast to compromise him in the lane.

4) I also very much like his Energy number.

5) His pace and speed numbers made him dangerous as the race set up for him.

I posted about this winner that I played that day complaining about the dropo in odds--when I played him, he was 6-1.

Anyway, you are right on the money with your observation as to why this horse was a good play and looked like he would win this race at a big overlay of 6-1. I was happy to take the 2-1--it's all about cashing tickets!!!

The horse did stick out on the points you made. Good handicapping.
