Runners for Tuesday 24/07/2007

GAMBLE ON THE DEW (#5, 5/2) is entered at Great Lakes Downs in Race 3, a 4 Furlong Dirt $17400 MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, scheduled to run at 5:40 PM.
Notes: 11/07/07 - evenly away and then ridden to go forward under a fast early pace, -1.5l 2nd on settling after 80y one off the fence, -3l 2nd into the bend being pushed along to chase the leader, -4.5l 2nd mid turn, -5l 2nd upon satraightening given full reign, further 1.5l to chasers in 3rd, put 3l on the balance closing on winner late, margin to 1st too big so eased last 50y, could have finished closer, definitely 2nd best, breaks maiden next start, capable of getting 5f easy.

ACCORDING TO PLAN (#4, 5/2) is entered at Saratoga in Race 9 (Schuylerville S.), a 6 Furlong Dirt $100000 STAKES, scheduled to run at 5:20 PM.
Notes: 29/06/07 - away well and then hard ridden to go cross and go forward and assume 1l solo lead very fast pace, did it well on the front end same fast tempo middle stages, 2nd and 3rd ranged to challenge on its outer midbend, this one shaken up before straightening, got 2l clear upon straghtening, +3l 1f marker and going well, +4l 100y out battling on holding margin very well, won by 4.5l on the line over one who came through with softer trail, big margins 3rd, can get 6f, did it at both ends, above this lot.

HIGH INTELLECT (#3, 10/1) is entered at Del Mar in Race 7 (Graduation S.), a 5 1/2 Furlong Dirt $125000 STAKES, scheduled to run at 5:05 PM.
Notes: 27/06/2007 - evenly away then bustled to go forward and retain rail from 2 others outside it early, used a bit, dictated pace through middle stages with good high crusing speed one other outside it, 2 others smoking on heels, increased tempo slightly into bend, got away from 3rd and 4th midturn as pace increased, straightened up 0.5l clear of one outside it top of stretch, settled down for ding dong duel length of stretch increasing margin on rest, this one shifted out midstretch but kept on finding under hard riding to hold sway, pulling away from foe again on the line, can get 6f on that effort.

INMYLIFETIME (#2, 9/2) is entered at Great Lakes Downs in Race 6, a 6 Furlong Dirt $10000 CLAIMING, scheduled to run at 6:55 PM.
Notes: 16/07/07 - evenly away from a wide gate and then urged along to go forward, worked consistently early eventually assuming solo 1l lead into the bend at a fast pace, one inside it kept it off the rail entire bend leading +1l, straightened up 1.5l clear, kept finding and got 2l clear 100y marker, extended final bit to score by 3.2l on the line, had the hardest trip the entire but still went away from them in the stretch, a level above this lot, good merit.

STAR DIXIE (#6, 5/2) is entered at Saratoga in Race 4, a 1 1/16 Mile Turf $63000 MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, scheduled to run at 2:39 PM.
Notes: 08/07/07 - evenly away to settle 4th rail tracking two leaders even tempo, crucial change to pace scenario as 3rd pushed on quickly down back into home bend and inside coleader dropped back quickly into lap of this one who all of a sudden was 5l adrift of one who was sitting outside it now leading round bend, came late in the stretch after being 3l down straightening, just missed, 4.5l to 3rd, should have won, wins next start.

STRUTTINHERSTUFF (#7, 6/1) Canterbury Park in Race 7, a 6 Furlong Dirt $15000 CLAIMING, scheduled to run at 9:51 PM.
Notes: 14/07/07 - away well from the middle of the pack and urged along early to go forward and assume colead outside one other after 150y fast tempo, smart jockey eased slightly to then take a -1.5l trail in 2nd and switched back inside leader to rail, pushed along to get up inside it into bend to be inside coleader early into bend, other leader drifted off track midbend, this one found itself 1l clear then, relaxed given breather, given reign upon straightening as 2 chasers came to close -1l, let down with a strong action early stretch, drew 2l clear furlong marker, extended to 3l 100y out still strong action, held margin to the line, a level above this lot.

BORN RUNNING (#9, 12/1) is entered at Canterbury Park in Race 7 (Minnesota Derby), a 1 Mile 70 Yards Dirt $60000 STAKES.

Notes: 12/07/07 - evenly away from the inside gate and showed good natural early speed to go forward under a good hold to lead into 1st bend with two others outside it decent tempo, 3 way pace battled ensued even tempo round 1st bend this one with rail, jockey still had it under a tight reign, same pace battle down the back no change to tempo, tempo increased before bend when this one given slightly more reign, one of coleaders starting to drop off, being given more reign midturn to drop off other coleader rather easily, 2.5l clear upon straightening still not asked, rider took a peep soon thereafter, asked 250y out, extended, 4l clear furlong marker, 7l clear 100y out, scored by 9l, driven right out, can get 1m 1/4 on that effort, a couple of levels above this lot.

DAIQUIRI (#4, 9/2) is entered at Fort Erie in Race 3, a 6 1/2 Furlong Dirt $7500 CLAIMING, scheduled to run at 1:58 PM.

Notes: 15/07/07 - away evenly from a wide gate and settled -3.5l 5th outside one other tracking 2 duelling leaders solid tempo, to -2l down the back same tempo, coming 3 wide into bend to challenge, drew level quickly 3 wide midbend, was 2l clear upon straightening, good strong action early stretch, extended margin to 3.5l furlong marker, 5.5l clear 100y out, won by 6l on the line, can get 7f, more wins instore.

DOWHATNOW (#10, 20/1) is entered at Calder Race Course in Race 13, a 5 1/2 Furlong Dirt $50000 MAIDEN CLAIMING, scheduled to run at 5:29 PM.
Notes: 12/07/07 - slowly into stride and settled 12l 2nd last after 1f solid tempo front end, 15l 2nd last into bend, 6l behind eventual winner, -10l 2nd last upon straightening still 6l from eventual winner, -5.5l 5th 100y out as eventual winner hit front, came quickly final 100y to be beaten 3rd by 4l after slightly ducking in behind one close home, should have finished slightly closer, huge closing par, wins next start over 5.5f or 6f, maybe even over this 4.5f trip if it can get away evenly.

JAGAN (#10, 8/1) is entered at Canterbury Park in Race 7 (Minnesota Derby), a 1 Mile 70 Yards Dirt $60000 STAKES, scheduled to run at 6:52 PM.
Notes: 15/07/07 - evenly away from the middle of the pack, settled down -4l outside one other tracking a solid tempo, -4.5l 6th down the back same tempo, splitting horses coming 2 wide into the bend, getting out 3 and 4 deep half way round bend looking to challenge, -1l down upon straightening widest of all, quickly level 300y out,went +4l clear 100y out, extended to win by 6l, good gaps the rest, very good turn of foot, well above this lot, can go on with it.

Notes: 14/07/07 - evenly away from the outside gate and then restrained to go back to 2nd last early, -12l 2nd last upon settling, same -12l down the back solid tempo, started to move forward before the bend, to -9l leaders entering bend, -7l rounding tiring runner half way round bend, -6.5l upon straightening with leader kicking well, -4.5l furlong marker going back to rail, -4l 100y out still coming, giant strides last 100y to miss by 0.5l, only one to make up ground on the leaders, will get 1m easy, this 6.5f, needs further, wins very soon.

Notes: 14/07/07 - evenly away then pushed along through first furlong to go forward and sit outside coleader in middle of 3 way speed battle early, same heavy pace pressure down the back in between coleaders, still duelling being pushed into the bend, still a 3 way level battle top of stretch with chasers -3l coming to them, outside coleader under pressure soon after, assumed control of inside coleader furlong marker as ones with softer trips started to close, level with 2 closers hard at it 100y out, dies on run last 50y, held 3rd over 2 other closers, beaten only 1.5l and other leaders dropped right out, very good hidden merit, wins very soon, can get 5.5f.

NOOTKA SOUND (#3, 4/1) is entered at Ellis Park in Race 8, a 5 1/2 Furlong Turf $20500 MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, scheduled to run at 3:58 PM.

Notes: 27/06/2007 - evenly away through early stages and kept on for inside rail in 3 way speed battle early, 1l solo lead soon after as pushed on under own steam fast pace, 2l clear into bend solid tempo, increased tempo mid turn and pushed along, gaps appearing in chasers, let down top of stretch as one other came after it, went away from balance as one with softer trip went past it, kept on for entire length of stretch, 4.5l to 3rd and another 4.5l to 4th, breaks maiden next start, this was 6.5f, prefer over 6f.
