Been on vacation and had to relearn how to read the form, and with this sequence it was tough. But...

7) Second half of the split and no one in here would have beat the daylight winner of the other division, yet MISS TRISS looks like she will improve on a so-so debut. Trained by previous employer Rusty Arnold, Posse filly fetched a solid number in Ocala and was consigned by clients of Rusty's. Works since finishing behind Assmussen flash impressive. Also Taking Stock who also was blown away by Assmussen filly who set a NTR and has worked back well and favored Palanka City who gets Lasix after bleeding and is a full to a 2yo runner who could motor.

8) Statebred maiden is very well matched and we will go outside and take WHATITSALLABOUT a homebred by the complete kook Labeeb. Richard charge beat in a picture opening week, then ran poorly enough where desperation blinkers were added and this 3yo gelding closed decently under Jimmy G. Also another goofball in MASTER COMMAND who need only keep a straight course to contend...EARNEST would need a pace meltdown but Geier, an underrated conditioner, put a sharp gate work in this one nine days after his last and then a salty half last weekend and puts up good gate rider in Razo who he has had success with...also Lord Vader a Devil His Due homer who will not be a maiden long.

9) Douglas lands on Cheyenne Spirit for Ronny and she is overdue to clear this class but she finishes second some forty percent of the time so we are adding SANS REWARD for Wally. 3yo is bred turf on turf but was second on a synthetic course as a juvenile and should be flying late.

10) Lone sophomore JAZZ QUEST drops from stakes and into state breds and is tough to go past, although no works in three weeks very anti-AMOSS and a short price to boot... but the others do not entice Call it 2,4,5 / 4,8,9,11 / 5,6 / 7 Play again Sunday BBB

Pretty weak cappin effort but there was no pie in the sky with this sequence and we knew it going in. Not passing on sequences will water down the ROI, but not as bad as, not having the correct ticket!

The Carson City filly as expected showed big speed and at odds on drew away. Our two other choices had chances but Rusty's Posse filly needed this one and Proctor's homebred has serious turf action.

Illinois bred maiden went to our top choice ($8) after a very stiff drive. Went four deep here and stayed alive in a race that was very confusing, at least on paper.

Crashed and burned with the third choice nailing our two selections who had little interest in winning. The favorite, who Douglas chose over the winner is what we call a "one for" horse. These types do not belong in horizontal wagers as they offer little value, are generally overbet and seldom win! A definition of "one for" is a horse who has one win in the last two years and more than twelve starts. I could not locate an alternative selection, not that that is any sort of excuse.

Amoss sophomore was up in the last jump as a way overbet favorite. Once again a successful single was wasted but at some hundred bucks for the $1 pick four we'll get over it. Something to take out of this sequence would be second time blinkers being an overlooked angle. The DRF lists how trainers have done when adding/removing blinkers but competent cappers realize this "stat" is meaningless. Horses are very claustrophobic and often it takes them a race (if not a work or two) to get used to them. Two horses this string were second time hood; one won clear and the other was beat a nostril at long odds. Play again tomorrow. BBB
