Kurt Hoover got into the bombastic act just now. He said, "Over $10,000,000 up for grabs today."

Excuse me, Kurt, but the carried-over money goes only to 6-pickers, so that plus 56% of today's goes to 6-pickers, while 5's and takeout account for, oh ... about FOUR MILLION DOLLARS. Sheesh. :bang:

Earlier today I received an email from Ill OTB telling me about the Hol carryover and inviting me to play it at my local OTB. If I understand it correctly they have a 5% surcharge, so if I bet with them and won, it would pay about a half a million less then then betting online. Sheese :bang:

Wow, I had never considered that. To verify, today's tickets having 5 of 6 get no $ from yesterday's carryover--they only collect from monies wagered today--is that correct?

Yes, thats correct and it makes sense as the 5 of 6 winners for a previous days' pick 6 already were paid so there is no carryover of 5 of 6 wagers .
