Being a long time LV resident, you may be of help to me.

I currently live in TX and I'm thinking of moving to either LV or Louisiana- more gambling friendly as it were.

Anyhow, if you c/ answer these ??'s I'd mucho appreciato, Senor. I don't know anyone else from LV, and have already looked into New Orleans and Shreveport. Thanks......

What real estate agent is trustworthy there? I've found the Century 21's and the likes to be inept for out of towners. I'm looking for an honest small-business type. Any names you'd suggest? (my mother was a realtor that ran her own ofc.....her clients were mostly out of towners and word gets around when there's an honest realtor).

What are the better local-owned restaurants and what neighborhoods where are they located? I disdain the chain eateries. Looking for something like a local Cajun seafood, and bbq place in a neighborhood (middle/ upper middle). Something within a mile of a decent neighborhood.

Best banks for locals to use. Here, there's a HUGE difference.

Can you recommend a particular Methodist church there?

Private school (for middle schoolers). This is important.

I probably have more but don't want to bog you down.

Thanks in advance!

Church? Hell, I thought the casinos were the only religion in Vegas....

SMF, I'll bet that you're thinking Vegas because it will get you further from Norman!

SMF,

I have an old friend that does real estate in Las Vegas. We haven't spoken in several years. Let me see if I can find either husband or wife and I will get their number for you.

Regards,
Dave Schwartz

smf,

I've lived in both Las Vegas and Reno and liked Reno a lot better. Reno is much more livable, but Las Vegas does have more action if that's what your looking for.

SMF,

Lefty lives in Las Vegas as well. Perhaps he can help.

Dave

PS: I agree with Rick. Reno is a nicer place to be, but certainly far different than the Las Vegas lifestyle.

Dave, Rick,

Thanks for the replies. Actually I'll be looking into a move if the Texas House enacts some phone/ account wagering laws that are even more restrictive to players. Right now, it looks like that may happen in the next session (2003).

Ceejay,

I thought this was closed, replied elsewhere....I just hope Stoops gets a nice NFL offer soon. Or,come to Austin to coach ;0.

Thanks, all.

He just re-signed for $2 million/yr plus insentive bonuses, so don't count on the NFL for a while. That's 600K more than Mack! I'm looking for a close game this year, 'cause I smell some 'horns looking for revenge.

On the account wagering issue, what are they thinking in Austin? I won't even ask why...

Ceejay,

West has written a few articles on this in the past few months. Seems to be brewing into another mess on the floor, there.

Long story, but it may play out where we'll get one, sole source provider for account wagering. For several reasons (none of which are interesting) that's a very bad deal. I like Louisiana's situation much better.

As for STouPS, Butch Davis had no trouble walking from his deal. Maybe I s/ get them acqaunted somehow...

Honestly, this year s/b a good game. OU will win tho, we have no running game again (o-line weak again). Revenge hasn't been a player for us since Akers left. We're too damn nice nowdays.
