Wondering what are some good resources(books, articles, sites, etc.) to help me crack this monster and quit hitting 5 of 6? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steven Crist and Barry Meadow have written extensively about the Pick 6.

Key one or 2 long shots...

cover many horses in othe races, if you get lucky- you get lucky.

What to do? Pick 6 is a hard ticket to cash.

First of all you have to determine if it's a playable pick 6, if it ain't take a pass and save your $$$ if you playing and praying to win your wasting money big time you'll lose 99% of the time. Best ones to play are when you can key 2 legs and play more in the other 4 legs. When you see huge carryovers EVERYONE is playing and pooling thier cash, some will spend thousands on a ticket.

As Cnollfan said, Crist and Meadow are excellent sources of the realities in the pick-6.

The #1 piece of advice I could give would be…

The rub is they need to be…

Serious
Mature
Honest
Talented
Ideally they have different handicapping disciplines from yourself and each other. If you can each specialize it goes a long way to eliminating the inevitable red-boarding that will bring stress to the arrangement.
There are at least 999 other variables with these complicated / expensive wagers and I wish you all the best.
