This has probably been posted before but I can't find it right now but my question is ; are the Bris and Beyer beaten lengths calculated the same way in the SR? CJ had stated that in the Bris SR for 6f the ratio was 1.66 per length. Is the Beyer similar?

I know a lot more about Beyer than I do about BRIS. At 6f, Beyer uses about 2.5 points per length. At 1 mile, it is 2 points per length.

Brisnet's own explantion of their figures can be a source of confusion. They claim that the average Bris figure for a Grade 1 winner is 106, but if you look at the pars for winning times for the Grade 1 races in their own PP's, they are all around 109 or higher. The best way to find a Bris equivalant to a Beyer figure is to apply CJ's formula. I've developed a similar one myself through the years and they are much more accurate than what Bris tells you.
