On this date in 1948, after riding Citation to victory in the Belmont, jockey Eddie Arcaro became the only rider in history to have won two Triple Crowns. His previous Triple Crown was with Whirlaway in 1941. In winning the Belmont, Citation became the eighth Triple Crown winner.
