I have an old computer (7 or 8 years old). It connects fine with cable internet. I want to set it up for my daughter, but it seems it may be too old to set up with wireless - the operating system is Windows 98 and the wireless adapter I have doesn't seem supported for Windows 98.

Does anyone use wireless with windows 98 and if so how can I set it up. I guess I could install XP, but I'm not sure I want to put this computer through the process-it is a bit shaky already. Any suggestions?

And if I wasn't so cheap, I'd buy a new computer - well there is a 10-1 shot I'm looking at later that might help.

A quick internet search using "windows 98 wireless adapter" turned up lots of hits. Here's one that's a list of adapters which could be used as a shopping list. (http://www.onino.co.uk/wireless_adapters-shrink/60150-ord/la.html) Good luck.
