As usual, another good article from the Albany NY Law School and author Bennett Liebman who at one time was a columnist in the Daily Racing Form.

According to the article "Some whales have been given the ability to cancel their wagers seconds after the race goes off. " Is this true? If so, it would be a major advantage to anyone betting front-runners. Imagine being able to cancel your wager on War Emblem 5 seconds after the break in this year's Belmont or DMR Pacific Classic. It also occurs to me that if you can cancel wagers after the bell, you can probably bet after the bell.

Its not true, but it makes for a good story.
