This spoiled, pampered little snot is pulling the expected;she is telling the world that jail is not for the rich and famous, and that 45 days in the clink is "cruel and unusual punishment"She has now appealed to AhNold to give her a pardon.Cant help but wonder just how much it has cost the taxpayers to pay for the added police presence that is required every time this brat appers in public and plays up to the media.Hope to hell that the judge has the balls to hold firm and to not cave in to pressure.Perhaps Miss Hilton is not aware that she could have gotten a lot more than 45 days.California law is quite firm on repeat DUI offenders, and she could have gotten six months,or possibly even a year.

Have very badly wanted to leave Southern California for many years, but it is never just a case of packing up and leaving;there are many considerations. One of the considerations, which may amuse some,is what this forum is about;horse racing. While I have traveled extensively in the American West and have come upon some pleasant places, all seem to lack racing facilities. That is to say, would prefer to live reasonably close to live racing and/or satellite facilities.Unlike many on this forum, wagering online and watching the races on tv or on my computer is not desirable to myself as a steady long term pastime.

Paris Hilton is pulling out all stops to avoid going to prison.

She's already put in a plea to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and turned to God with church visits and Bible readings - now she’s making sure to cover all spiritual bases.

The 26-year-old has turned to Buddha to save her from her 23-day jail sentence.

Checked in.

"The "Simple Life" star is being housed in the "special needs" unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. Hilton's cell has two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a small window. She does not have a cellmate. "

Whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

My guess is she will survive and actually come out better for it. From the few videos I've seen of her she doesnt seem stupid or weak willed. Obviously her emotions are on high alert and she will be extremely focused during her stint.

And, she'll probably get to know every Dave CHappelle skit by heart. He's pretty popular in the joint.

From the Drudgereport.com:

"SHARPTON BLASTS JUSTICE SYSTEM
Thu Jun 07 2007 11:45:47 ET

Reverend Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network, and one of the country's foremost leaders for civil rights, is blasting the justice system for what appears to be favoritism in the early release of Paris Hilton.

"Though I have nothing but empathy for Ms. Hilton whom I have met and appeared with on Saturday Night Live the night I hosted in 2003, this early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color. There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released.

I have served several sentences for civil rights and civil disobedience actions and I even fasted which caused health concerns to prison authorities who paid for a doctor to come see me daily rather than release me. This act smacks of the double standards that many of us raise[End Quote]

Sharpton is right to be outraged at her release.
Sharpton is wrong about this being a racial issue.
This is strictly an economic issue and a celebrity issue.
Once again, Sharpton sees what he sees through black lenses only and that is where he loses credibility with me.

tmz.com is reporting: http://www.tmz.com/

In the documents obtained by TMZ, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo is also asking Judge Michael Sauer to hold a hearing, demanding that the Sheriff's Department show why it should not be held in contempt of court for violating Judge Sauer's May 4, 2007 order, which expressly stated "no electronic monitoring."

Late this afternoon, the judge granted the request for a hearing, which is now scheduled for 9:00 AM PDT tomorrow.

This had better be good. Made a total mockery out of the California Legal System. Amazing, since I thought O.J., Robert Blake, & others had already managed to do that. So I'm only a little surprised, but was disappointed as expected. DUI seems to have become tres chic lately among celebrities. Absolute worst role models for the young teens and adults who follow their antics and emulate their moves.

On this evening's Larry King, lawyer Mark Geragos ( remember M. Jackson)
said Hilton was actually in jail too long. She was being punished for being a celebrity. Anyone else in for a misdemeanour would have been in and out in 12 hours. He repeated to USA Today:

"Attorney Mark Geragos, who has represented pop star Michael Jackson and actress Winona Ryder, said it is extremely rare for most misdemeanor offenders to serve jail time in Los Angeles County because of the overcrowding.

The defense attorney suggested that Hilton’s celebrity actually may have worked against her.

‘‘If her name was Paris Perez and not Paris Hilton, she would have been out in 12 to 36 hours,’’ Geragos said."

Geragos went on to claim on King's show that the judge will be on very shakey legal ground trying to put Paris back in jail.
This sends one hell of a message to America about drinking and driving and driving under suspension.

Perhaps that's true in General population, but she was in a segregated unit in a one woman cell - how crowded can that be?? I'd be curious is the people he is refering to are probation violators, people who had a chance at the "easy" way out.

The rumor is that the tabloids are offering 500k for a picture of Paris in her jump suit. If I'm working there, I'm getting that picture. Whats the worse that could happen, I get fired, if I commit some silly little misdomeanor - 12-36 hours later I'm walking. Throw me in that briar patch. :)
