If memory serves me correctly, Big Puddles (and maybe Thunder Puddles) was owned by Herbie Schwartz (the father of Scott Schwartz, the trainer) and trained by Campo.

I don't believe she ever lived up to expectations, and might've been retired early due to injury.

At that time, Speak John, a son of Prince John (once again, on memory) was a somewhat bigtime turf sire.

Hard to believe that Frank Martin never tried this horse on the turf.
