Just noticed the pick 6 payout and 5 of 6 payout were WAY out of proportion today. I have never seen a pick 6 pay over $100K and the 5/6 payout not pay even $500..

From today:

$2 Pick 6 7/1,4,6,8/6/6/5/1 6 of 6 $134,225.00
5 of 6 442.00

Maybe its just me.. Just seems odd..

I believe 5 of 6 payout is a fixed percentage of the pool and not based on how many tickets are cashed.

a 3-5 shot lost in the 1st leg,,,,, No doubt,, many had him singled.. a $30.00 winner beat him, who was the 6th Favorite on the board (my 1st selection on the pace board yesterday BTW).

a $17.00 winner beat a 3-2 shot in the 5th race ( I also had the $17.00 winner as my 1st selection on the Pace board yesterday) Again.. many had that 3-2 sinngled no doubt, the winner was the 4th Favorite on the board.

Then, mostly 1st or 2nd fav's the other 4 races.

$160,000 in the pool,, Looks like 1 winner of the pick 6 and and 60 people had 5 of 6. 85% goes to the 6 of 6 ticket, and the 59 5 of 6 winners split the other 26 grand. If just two other people had it,, the payyoffs would have been more in line with what your used to seeing,,,

Just one good and/or lucky SOB yesterday.

I wonder what the ticket configuration of the 6-winner ticket was.

I am not sure if I am surprised at how low the 5 of 6 was or how that only one person hit it..

I saw a TRI at Hawthorn 2 years ago that I will never forget, the 2-5 favorite finsihed 4th, 13-1, 7-1, 32-1 was the finish order, the TRi paid $1,052.xx, what was unusual is the Super paid over $34k!! You telling me the 2-5 shot made that super pay so much more, I don't think so.

penguinfan All that was was sombody had a saver ticket with the sure thing in all slots just in case(probably just one person). Many times I get burned on a short priced horse that I think will run at best 2nd or third and he wins or catches 4th place. The fav winning the race is not painful, cause it usually means short payoffs, its when he comes in 3rd or 4th over good priced horses that I want to kick myself for being too cheap to take him in the 4 hole.
