Will be there early next week on business.. Couple of questions if anyone could share thoughts:

1) Is the racebook nice? Do they carry all tracks?

2) Do they allow laptops in there?

3) Do they typically have harness programs available?

No modem-equipped iterms are allowed. Kinda like cell phones, a no-no.

I'm sure the programs are available, but I prefer the Harness Eye, which is available at Station Casinos, but where else I don't know.

If you ask the racebook manager beforehand, they will let you use a laptop.

Yes, but you'll have to disable or remove your modem. Heck, you could take a cell phone if you removed the chip. You could just check the time of day, maybe?

not exactly, they will warn you to shut off the wireless portion, but let you use the laptop. I've done it lots of times. They key to any sportsbook in Vegas is to notify the book's manager so that the "thug" security guards will leave you alone. Most managers will override the casino security. The one time that it didn't work for me at the Mirage, I got a free buffet for me and the Mrs., but that was the exception.

Thankfully, they have NOT banned smoking fine cigars there either, but that's another thread.

I'll be at Mandalay's this Wed. and Thurs. doing the same thing.

benn in the mirage many many times, but ive never (maybe once) used their book.


i would have to say 'it is not one of the best'.

pool is great, shops are very good, but that book... go back to the pool.

If you have your laptop with wireless internet why would you even want to go to a crummy sports book? I've seen hotter chicks in a bingo parlor.
