Someone on another board posted this link to a site which has a spreadsheet of the slot revenues for the different facilities which have started slots in 2006/7. You have to enlarge the page to see the figures.

It seems that Gulfstream isnot doing too well compared with the other facilities.

Well, if there's one thing Frank knows it's what the people don't want.

Maybe casino customers are on to what casino pays out better overall. Being that Gulfstream and Mardi Gras are right down the road from each other they are fighting for the same casino customers. While Pompano is located aout 20 miles away from Gulfstream and Mardi Gras.

Anyway here are the percentage averages of revenue from total money in for each track

Pompano=8.4% or 91.6% pay out

Mardi Gras=8.8% or 91.2% pay out

Gulfstream=9.5% or 90.5% pay out

Doesnt take long for word on the streets to reach casino customers as to what casino has the best percentages, and with .7% being the difference between Gulfstream and Mardi Gras that could drive more customers to play Mardi Gras slots versus Gulfstream in that area. Where would you go if you were a slot player, I dont think it is hard to figure out. It would be like having 2 OTB's right down the road from each other and one offers rebates and the other does not, where are the people going to go play.

Then you look at Pompanos figures for the 4-16/4-22 and you will see they out performed both Gulfstream and Mardi Gras. Once again the lowest percentages and also located away from the other two competitors, so they have their own customer base to themselves.

I dont know the details of these casinos for as I dont live in or any where near Florida, but what are the player rewards programs like at each casino? Does Gulfstream have the worst of the bunch, or are they pretty balanced overall. It is possible that Mardi Gras has on top of the lower percentage better rewards programs than Gulfstream and people know that as well. Same goes for Pompano, what rewards to they offer their customers?

Since not knowing the area there is another question that I would toss out there, what place is easier to get to? Maybe that is also another deciding factor in where people are choosing to go play slots.

In our town the slot players go to the closest Casino from the money mart that they cash their welfare checks at. :lol:

Well, if there's one thing Frank knows it's what the people don't want.

I guess they would call that the Frank-off effect !

Santa Anita - didnot let him do much to change it = continued success
Gulfstream - knocked the old place down and built a slots place = downturn
Maryland - big plans, no okays = near death
Meadows - got slots, sold for $250 mil = stopped some bleeding
Great Lakes Downs - closing after this year

etc. etc The guys a genius !
