Hey Karl - I heard frank just had a coronary. all that heavy lifting to get slots in broward for gulfstream and now the enitre states parimutual facilities will get them. How much business do you think that will take away from gulfstream ? Those supposed big purse increases ? If the per machine numbers go down(as they already have), how can they raise purses ? Maybe they realized that and then cancelled a separate slots building on the south end to canabalize the south simulcasting room for this reason ? Looks like the only winner from this is the state education department. give those teachers a raise, cut class size and build some new schools and restore those cut programs.

Hate to bust your bubble, but what you are talking about are VLT's (lottery/bingo type machines), for the rest of the Pari-Mutal plants in the state. The Indians (Seminoles and others) have pretty well saturated the state with these type machines. What Mr. Stroanch (and others) bought in Broward County were CLASS 3 (Vegas type machines) BIG DIFFERENCE. Peeked in the downstairs Casino room Sunday, the place was jumping.

If the Indians pull the " Soverign Nation " card to get Class 3 machines than there could be competition, but they are going to have to pay (big time) for the privilege, something they have no intention to share. Between GP and Hollywood Dog Track the local Hard Rock Casino is hurting and Pompano Harness will soon be open, all with Class 3 machines, more competion for the Indians.
