This should be different. I don't think that track is kind to front runners........... what are the odds they try to rate him again........?

I just watched the replay. A friend of a friend owns Better Than Bonds so I am happy with his finish. Overall I thought the race call was boring.

At this point it's a darn shame he's a gelding. He should be mounting rather than being mounted

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand .. if the horse is sound..fine ..race
him. But if there ever is the slightest doubt....retire the guy ..Make him a
pet ..Let the grand kids play with him. Feed him the best stuff. Seven
years is enough in my humble opinion. Put him in the hot tub ... do whatever
you do .. when there is a Derby winner in the house :bang: And
of course I am sure that the owners would never do anythng to harm
the animal. Making him 4/1 in the M/L on his return ? Well OK OK I wil
shut up

I remember in one interview when someone asked Barclay Tagg how long he was going to run Funny Cide and he said until he dies. Hopefully he was just being sarcastic. :) I think its probably time to retire him and let him stay in the pastures. After what he's accomplished and the money he has made, there is no need to have him being beaten badly in allowance races now. Plus its expensive to keep a horse in training. If he can't win the good races anymore, why throw the money away?

I think Funnycide is happy racing. I'm sure he'll come back and win a nice race this Summer. I'd love to see him at Saratoga but its too hot for him.

Funny's workouts at 5 furlongs have been so great -- should he run shorter distances or not?

That track is NOT going to help his running style. Not at all.

Now that race and especialy that track will help him a lot.
