Truly, an international cast. This race should offer more value than the Dubai World Cup.

Seihali makes a second attempt at this race for "the other" Shiek. Having won the "prep" at the distance over the coarse, a minor prize would not be a surprise.

Best Name, one of two from Godolphin, ran 4th in the same race as Seihali. Will the PIRCO tandem rule apply here? Nothing to recommend.

Stormy River will attend the pace but questions arise if it can go with these and at this distance. Pass.

Irridescence could very well be on the lead early. This South African mare owned by the US Team Valor should be able to get the distance but might feel too much pressure late by others with more class. 30:1 morning line seems a bit overwrought.

Lava Man will try the turf for the 13th time. But why? Is he ducking Invasor? Earnings per start on the green stuff does not make him very competitive. I expect he'll be pressing the horse on his inside and likely will have English Channel keeping him company. Only if the pools are comingled will he be 6:1. Like others better here.

Mystical -- 16 wins from 19 starts -- Wow! Oh, but those were in India. Nothing more to say.

Kapil from South Africa mostly raced as a sprinter though Blushing Groom on the top line might allow him to surprise. Looking at others.

Pompeil Ruler, an Australian home bred, appears to be coming up to the race in good form. If this grandson of Sunday Silence can repeat his last he could turn in a shocker with a morning line of 20:1.

Flashy Wings is a 4 year old filly with doubious breeding for the distance. I expect she'll be last both early and late. Pass.

Admire Moon has his usual rider, Y. Take, and with Forty Niner on the top line and Sunday Silence the dams sire what's not to like? The only knock would be he'll likley be near or at the rear and will need some luck negotiating traffic late. Morning line favorite at 3:1.

English Channel, a Breeder's Cup Turf also ran, appears to be up against it here. Will press the pace in the second flight but will need to 'kick it up a notch'. Morning line of 4:1. Look to others for the top prize.

Daiwa Major, a son of Sunday Silence, appears to have these over a barrel. Should be in the 2nd flight and has demonstrated the ability to get the distance. Should be able to get first run. Earnings per start and total monies won along with proven ability to be competitive in races with large fields makes him a stand out at 6:1. My choice to win.

Formal Decree did not retain Mick Kinane and should be at the rear early. This appears to be the better of the two Godolphin runners. An explosive close would not surprise but will need some racing luck. 10:1 morning line makes it tempting to use in a dutch for the win.

Bad Girl runs is a 5 year old mare with 8 life time starts. Another runner with mostly sprints but the dam's sire is Blushing Groom. Can it get the distance? 30:1 says no. Pass.

Linngari should be mid pack but, again, distance questions with little else to recommend. Beat Seihali and Kapil in its first race of the year but at a slowish 1:38 for about a mile. Pass.

Good luck to all.
