Bank Roll

I have heard alot of talk about bankroll. Most of the talk revolves around one lump sum. Is it just as exceptable to put 50 bucks a week in the bankroll, instead of starting with $2500. I realize it cuts down on what you can do in terms of bet size and quantity of races, but I am interested to know how most players get started.

I put $1000 in a separate place. If I am over $1000 at the end of two weeks, I pay myself. If I am under $1000, I put enough in to get back to $1000. I started with $200, but did it the same way every two weeks. Many times though I would lose the $200 before the two weeks were up! (like in one day!) Then I would have to put another $200 the next day, so I got it up to $1000. It's harder to lose $1000 in a day since I won't bet enough to do that!
