Race 1:

Positionally, looks like the #4 is lone speed here, although velocity-wise, a number of others can run with him early. With that said, I'm going with the #7 here at 20-1 currently. His race on Jan 22 puts him on par with the even money favorite (the aforementioned #4) per my numbers. If Hill Road Lover (#7) catches enough pace up front, his closing numbers are enough to get him up.

Race 1 recap:

Bet him win/place at 24-1 and he ends closing too late to end up third.....$12.80 show payoff does me no good.

Race #2:

Not much pace in here at all, positional or otherwise. It's fairly obvious the #1 is going to the front, the #2 will be chasing, and the rest will be further back trying to play catch up....

I'll take #2 Wild Thoughts in this spot. Had to go back to July 2006 for his line, but a decent closing kick and ability to stay relatively close to the early pace may be what it takes here.

Currently 6-1 with lots of time left.

Your 7 was certainly flying at the end PA. Still a nice call.

Race 2 recap:

The #2 was so much further back early on than I could have conceived possible....made it that much easier for the #1 to coast as the chalk.....0-2 thus far....

PA, you not going to go 'Anderon' on us with your live picks??:)

Race #3:

Big, fairly evenly matched field for this 5f contest. I see it as a three way battle for the lead between 1, 4 and 6. Speed is going to win this one (no surprise here) as this is a 5f race and the closers pretty much suck.

My money is going on the #1 here....probably best early speed of the bunch and best closing numbers of the three aforementioned probable pacesetters.

The only fly in the ointment might be the #3. This horse likes to press hard and has the ability to take the lead if the #1 doesn't break well. But, I really don't like this horse because she hasn't done all that well against quicker paces like she'll face today.

Nah, I give you at least 10-15 minutes to decide that you don't want to bet my picks....lol

Yo PA, you haven't switched over to the s-breds yet? :jump: :jump: Warrant has a nice lineup on picks for Woodbine tonight. Already cashed the first race winner at $17.90. :) Hope you nail a few the rest of the card.

Race #3:. I see it as a three way battle for the lead between 1, 4 and 6. The 6 is 19-1 and the 4 is 21-1 at 4 minutes to post, it's worth a dollar per box?

I'm with you on the 1 PA. Hope its not the kiss of death!

Yikes, I'll shut up from now on. He sure got hit on the odds board at the end.

Wow what a pace collapse. The 1 does not run a lick. The 6 and 5 have a 3-4 length lead at the top of the stretch and all the closers find a way....

I could redboard the winner to death, but what's the point....

Why did you quit,

a few set backs never stop 'Anderon'

Go 'Anderon'

Race #4

Another contested pace, another chance for a closer at a price....

The #3 SHOULD get the lead, but the 1, 5 and 6 all can run with him if they feel like it....

Might set it up for the outside horse that I like here, Mighty Fortress (#10). He's won when facing this kind of pace going 5.5 in the past, and the way the track is playing so far, it could be putting things more in his favor....7-1 early in the wagering....

10-5-2-1 in that order

Who said anything about quitting Mr. Buttinski? Talk about jumping the gun....

And while we're on the topic of Anderon....."a few setbacks!!!??!?!?!!?"

Another jokester in our midst ladies and gents.

MNR 6th 3 MTP

The #7 (Christmas Dream) is going off at 3/5. Isn't this a false favorite? O.k. won last by 20 but in a mdn 5k restricted to 3yo's. This race has older horses and is a longer race for 15k. Also Carmouche does not reride.

MNR #7
3-7-9

MNR 6 - another Whitney stupid ride going way to fast up front on a group that didn't look to challenge. I'll bet against Whitney again.

I just logged on and am sitting at work with nothing to do, so why not play along. MNR hasn't been good to me recently, but it can always change.

7th race - 7 looks like the speed and class here. 1/5 currently. I don't think he is worth a bet or a bet against

Buddha

8th race - A little late posting this one. With a clean break, I think that the 5 is the speed of the race, though a little underclassed maybe running in claimers almost his whole career. Last race was nice, and the runner up came back to win.

5 to win
5/6,8,10 exacta box

Figures the first time I post picks in a long time, I go 0fer.

Congrats to WhoBet for the boxcar payoff in the 3rd....

MNR has been tough recently. I am almost ready to give up on it until May. Who knows though. At the very least, I am cutting back on what I am going to bet there.
