Aren't regular expressions just about the grooviest thing out there? :cool:

I mean, when you think you've covered the minimum, you find that you're being greedy. And when you think you're being greedy, you find you're being parsimonious.

I mean, in an imperfect world (of data suppliers and their poorly thought out formats) I could spend the rest of my life revising chart code.

Every time I need a regex for a php program, I have to Google all the rules. Even then it is hard to keep track and HOPE that they work right.....

Um, here is a novel idea... give all the chart makers a pull down list (like every web form has) and then make them choose for all items except for maybe trip comments? Then turn off all punctuation symbols like commas, ampersands etc. This would make life easier to parse........
