IF MORE THAN 1 HORSE QUALIFIES USE THE FOLLOWING ORDER TO SEPARATE THEM:

1- Won the last start by at least 2 lengths while gaining in the stretch.

2- Use this point scale if rule 1 doesn't apply:

A- 100 points for each past performance chart win.

B- 60 points for a win in the last start while gaining in the stretch.

C- 60 points for 2 wins in the last 5 starts.

D- 600 points for an allowance win at a major track... 150 points at a minor track.

E- 800 points for a handicap or stakes win at a major track... 200 point at a minor track.

F- Excluding the latest start, drop the last 2 numbers from the highest winning entered claiming price in the past performances and multiply by 2. Et gratia, $35,000 - 00 = 350 x 2 = 700 points.

G- Drop the last 2 numbers from the latest race's claiming price and multiply by 2, repeating rule 2-F.

3- Add up the total points and play the horse with the highest total.

GOOD LUCK!

Not long--- even if you use the DRF; you can eliminate horses and races very quickly. The 1st 3 rules winnows the field. Most of the time you get one/two contenders in a race that qualifies. Software to run multiple tracks could be written in a couple of days.

Once in while you'll run across a race or two at the minor tracks--- This method really is suitable if you develop software to play multiple tracks.
