Hey Folks, I have a dumb Q.. Can someone tell me the formula to figure out Boxing prices? Like say for instance, I want 5 horses boxed for TRIF... How would I figure that out, or is there a chart that I can download somewhere...
Thanks, and good luck today.

There is a simple way
Take the number of horses to box(5). Take The exotic bet (trifecta 3 places)
Since this is a bet with 3 places you take 5X4X3= 60 combinations
superfecta 4 places 5X4X3X2 = 120 COMBOS
exacats 2 places 5X4 = 20 COMB
The explanation is not very good, but the math is simple for all combination when boxing.

Simple enough, that is exactly what I needed, thank-you sir..
So, there will always be a 4 there, like 5*(4)*3,?
I got it..

Only in superfecta wagers. No reason why you can't box 3 in a tri or exacta. For the tri the cost would be 3*2*1 = 6. For the exacta it would be 3*2 = 6 also.
You can also think of a box bet as a BIG wheel. Box 1234 in a super is just like the wheel
1234
1234
1234
1234
In this case you have 4 ways to pick the winner....
In the case where you have the winner, you now only have 3 ways to pick place
And of course you now only have 2 ways to pick 3rd.
Which leaves 1 way to pick 4th.
So the cost of a 4 horse super box would be 4*3*2*1 = 24

For vertical exotics, where X = # of runners in the top line that you have chosen to box
Exactas X x (X -1)
Tris X x (X -1) x (X-2)
Super X x (X -1) x (X -2) x (X -3)
