With all the races available to bet in this day and age it's possible to get overwhelmed at times. I have found that it's much more profitable to cut down on your action in order to make better bets on solid selections.
One of the best ways I've found to do this is by qualifying my plays. One of the best qualifiers is to never bet a horse that doesn't have a BIG win at the distance. What do I call a big win? It's when a horse sets or presses the pace all the way and enters the stretch with the lead and then draws away. If a horse doesn't show a race like this in his past, it's a pass.
