Any observations on the jockey's riding style in the second race, where he was actually upright and sitting on the horse's back after the horse bolted? It looked to me as if he were just doing whatever he needed to do to maintain control (including the right-handed whip to keep the horse on the track). Was his response a matter of deliberate race tactics, or was he just trying to get through the situation and control the horse in any way he could, with no conscious consideration at that point of what effect it would have on whether he won the race or not, and with the horse just winning on its own initiative?
