I was at the Silverton Casino "Racebook" about 35 or 40 minutes before official Torpor Bowl kickoff time. The gates opened for the 8th from Golden Gate Fields. Ten seconds later, the screen switched to the pregame show, which was already on the other 20 screens in the room. The Santa Anita screen, with 15 or 20 minutes until the nightcap, remained up, at least.

Leroy's MIGHT be able to run a bake sale, if the prices were all multiples of one dollar. And *I* begged these rent-a-clowns for a job. :bang: That's ... MY bad.

What did you expect from a joint that offers 165,000 square feet of Bass Pro Shops called Outdoor World and is replete with dead elk & deer heads on every wall within sight?

Can you bet on that?

Send your comments to leroyssportshour@gmail.com. John Kelly will likely read your comments on the air. He and Jimmy Vacarro host The Leroy's Sports Hour. A 1 hour radio show M - F from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Pacific on 1460 AM in Las Vegas. The show is streamed live at www.foxsportsradio1460.com. JK is a horseplayer, so I'm sure he'll understand your gripe. He reads the positive and negative comments.

the set-up used to be that Leroys didnt run the casino, just the sports book end, which did not include TB on any level

I was not aware the Leroy's did anything but handle the sports books at a number of the smaller venues in Nevada. Maybe that has changed.

I DID notice a fetching aquatically-attired barmaid, so fetching that I briefly considered ravishing her under an assumed name, that of the Harness God, thereby risking the following incendiary headline: MELMAN MOUNTS MERMAID. Naw, I passed.
