Hey, it's the only line I could find. If anyone has a real McCoy, bring it on.

How out of whack is it with the 'hohats' listing Al. If you get a chance to post the top 10, I'd be much obliged

Dreaming of Anna and Pirates Deputy would be a great bet-against at around 50-1.

PD did not stretch out well at all in the last. He may end up a 7f -1mile type of closer.

The 450 nominees are:

The late nomination period, at $6,000 per horse, will close on March 31.

I'll get back to everyone in a couple hours with those Bally's odds after I escape my freezing cell at work. That is if the trains can get me home as they sure had me wondering if I was getting to work at all this morning.....

My printout is in alphabetical and remember it was printed a week ago, so the GP and SA races have probably changed things a bit. I'll give the top 10 on the hohat and what they were at at Ballys

Nobiz 5/1
Hard Spun 10/1 (was going to place one on this guy but not at that price)
Tiz Wonderful 10/1
Birdbird...40/1 (honestly I think this is closer to the truth than hohats)
Circular Quay 18/1 (it tempted me)
Ravel 40/1
Scat Daddy 25/1
Stormello 20/1
Great Hunter 30/1
Any Given Saturday 30/1 (like his name....)

The only other notable at low odds was Day Pass at 15/1. He's in Dubai, so I'd say no way with your money to that one. They still had The Spankin, er Green Monkey at 45/1 which was the dumbest thing I've seen.

I was going to make a small bet, but just didn't like the prices on any in the end.

Here is what I start with every year since 2003.

Its a good place to start. Was just looking at it yesterday. I will start on my tracking tomorrow when the first futures pool comes out. It helps narrow down the main contenders. Of course I will add a horse I think deserves to be included that is being overlooked, ala Smarty Jones in 2004. Don't have any of those yet this year though

I also add to the list as the days go by, ala Bernardini, after the Kentucky Derby.

Take WHAT A TALE at 125-1

Bargain. Won't be more than 12-1 on race day.

Back it up with TIZ WONDERFUL, who won't be more than 6-1.

Well I like What A Tale better now.

When did this happen?

I couldn't get down anywhere on the futures so I wasn't on top of it as I should have been.

The term "moron party" refers to the tendency for racetrack and horse racing crowds on Saturday to be a bit below-average in ability, thus creating opportunity (and presumably a better ROI) for the regular, sharper horseplayers.

Very entertaining.
