Barbaro - A Home Page Tribute

I put together a little tribute on the home page. In it, I put what I found to be one of the best of the Barbaro "YouTube" videos. The quality of the video isn't all that good (what YouTube video is?), but it's not the video quality that counts in this instance. I'm not sure who created the video.

As celebrated as he was from the Derby it’s his grass form that left me in awe. The best 2yo grass animal I ever saw.

Dynaformer from a Northern Dancer female line, he had international superstar / sire written all over him. A Kentucky Derby champion that had a legitimate shot at the Arc in the same year would have placed him in rarified air.

Uh oh.....if I'm reading things right, I believe I gave the impression that *I* might have actually CREATED the video. I did NOT. I'm simply linking to it.....

Sorry if it seemed otherwise....I should have worded my original post differently...

By "put together" I meant I created the box that holds the video and listed his winning races....once again, I apologize for unintentionally misleading remarks...

Nice film collage , it was posted at YT by a kayrite. Tried to get more info PA, but not much. It seems horseracing and horses are what this kayrite is into. Probably is the video owner. Checked his collection, has a lot of ones we know. Thought you might want him to get a little reco, if not just erase.

No, no, whoever created it deserves whatever recognition we can find. I only wish they had digitized the video instead of hand-filming the TV....the soundtrack is PERFECT though....

Not taking anything away from the excellent tribute PA posted. I have a great love for turf racing and drove to Calder just to see him after being blown away by The Laurel futurity.

DRF links to Barbaro’s 3 grass races. Good clean digital video if anyone wants to see this turf monster in action. (Note how green he is alternating leads in the stretch. This was one of the great grass horses in the making, in my opinion.)

Thanks PA, that was really great. I never had the chance to see his earlier races, and it was a treat to watch. What a horse he was, and could have been!
