After Pinnacle kicked me out and said that they will no longer do business with me , because I am an American, I had opened an account with CrisBet in the land of Jurassic Park. However, the only way to deposit funds into an account currently is to use secret procedure adapted by Al-Qaeda operatives as follows:

1. Call them in advance and let them know when I am going to be sending them cash via Western Union or Moneygram.

2. In turn, they'll let me know their agent's name in Costa Rica to whom I'll send my deposit.

3. Rush to nearest place that can process Western Union funds, probably a gas station. Check surrounding's first lest you get robbed.

4. Funds will be available for to use in about twenty minutes.

I said thank you. I'll think about it .

So I decided to give someone else a try. I found this place in Antigua, maybe same one that filled WTO claim against USA, and was told that they will be happy to take my business. When I inquired just how does one fund an account, I was told that I can buy one of those phone cards because they can be used like credit cards. Really?

So now I am sitting on a fence. After being a Youbet member for 7 years, I am not going back.

Just a quick question for all of you rebate players.

Why would you publicly admit to using offshores while there is a big crackdown on internet wagering and CC acounts?

I've wanted to ask this question myself for a long time. After reading that President Bush believes he has the right to open American's mail without their consent, and how a 80 year old guy gets a visit from the Secret Service for writing a letter to the Editor that said "they hanged the wrong guy" after the Saddamm execution. This is a public forum, Big Brother is watching.

"Paranoia will destroy ya."

DOJ is asking for a truck load of information from London banks. If they get that, that'll keep them occupied for another decade in addition to the number of cases that they have already pending. I am curious to see just how many they'll even win. If all the financial scams trials are any indication, I would guess not many. Besides, I not certain what law would I break anyway. My point was that, it's impossible to fund any offshore accounts anyway.

Maybe someone could help anwser this please. I don't know the full story on how rebates work as far as if any of the money goes back to the track or not. If not is that not hurting everyone in the long run? Thanks.

Are you guys kidding me? That 80-year-old clown rightly deserved a visit from the Secret Service. Any public threat against a sitting President must be taken seriously...that's their FREAKIN' JOB!

What if he wasn't an 80-year-old "harmless" man? They have to make sure.

And just where have you been sleeping all these years? Stories of folks who stupidly make public comments such as these, and get visited by the Secret Service, have been around for MANY administrations, not just GWB's.

Sometimes, I just can't understand people anymore.....

But enough of this....this kind of talk is purely OFF TOPIC.

Michiken,

Because I'm a Canadian. I know... know. It's a smart Alec reply. Couldn't resist that!

Kev, when it comes to a real discussion of the rebate question (other than "I have the right to bet offshore and the government doesn't have the right to stop me..blah, blah") the silence is deafening.

I think the bigger question for some people right now is how do you get the money out, not how do you get it in.

Why not? Don't you get it? It's about the guys taking the bets....not the guys making the bets.

My reply used examples of why it would not be a good idea to publicy post about rebate shops. They are now illegal in the U. S. There were no political connotations. Your post, on the other hand, reeks of them.

Twice? They visited him two years ago when he was 79, and deemed him not a threat. He's been published over 200 times in letters to editors.

They did. In 2004.

He did'nt mention Bush. As he said...I was talking about Osama Bin Laden

You want to be against the Government visiting, searching, questioning and photographing 81 year old men. Not looking for reasons to justify it.

But enough of this....this kind of talk is purely OFF TOPIC

Ok.

For the record "they hung the wrong man" returns 3.1 Million results on Google.

He said "I could've meant (Osama) bin Laden,"... It was pretty clear who he was talking about.

He wasn't asserting that he would harm anyone. And, the Feds assumed who he was talking about.

Well, that's all I'm going to say. I could REALLY take this off topic.

Anyway, yeah, public statements are rather dangerous these days, including about international gambling.

These Days? The same shit went on when Clinton was President. I personally had to Babysit a guy who wrote bad things about Bush 41 and Clinton in the local paper. I actually sat in a police car outside his home while the Clinton Motorcade drove by on the freeway two miles away. After the motorcade was passed I went up and knocked on the guys door and told him I was leaving. He was used to it. This guy was a professed communist or socialist (hell I don't remember which exactly) and he never made an overt threat against anybody. He just railed against the Government and how our Presidents were corrupt etc. We got to know him. We also babysat him earlier during the 92 election campaign when 41 went through town on a train. Nothing has changed. The Secret Service has a gazillion files on guys all over the country. This guy mentioned just made himself one of the latest.

I understand what you saying, but somehow I don't think the government is going to waste the time and money chasing down 40 million online horse, poker, and sports bettors and when there are terrorists in Washington making laws. ;)

You click on a thread about rebates and somehow end up in Washington Week in Review. I never thought I'd read a thread about rebates that would mention Clinton and Bin Laden. I guess Clinton's mom was a horseplayer at OP but she didn't strike me as the rebate-type. :)

It's true. Some folks can't resist playing politics in the wrong sandbox. I am guilty of responding as well, but I just couldn't let the comment go by without a reply.

I apologize for my part in taking this thread off topic.

Listen to Arlo Guthrie's "The Pause of Mr. Claus" sometime, where he says, "Just imagine the last guy, nobody's got it worse than that guy. In most countries they'd just say, 'Hey, he's the last guy, screw him.' But that's the beautiful thing about America because there is no hypocrisy and there is no discrimination... 'cause they'll get anybody."
