I use America Tab and You Bet for my online wagering. I am convinced that they are safe and secure sites. However, every time I want to add money to my account. Master Card denies it. I always have to call them, and go through their silly routine to get the advance. I have learned to allow myself plenty of time, so I don't miss a race. Be that as it may, I find this very annoying. I wonder why the major credit card companies affiliate themselves with online horse wagering, if they deny every request for an advance? I know that I am preaching to the choir. But, I would like to hear what others think of this.

You should consider setting up a checking account to fund transfers (both ways) from the services. For AmericaTab it is called EZMoney. Works very well, usually in about 30 seconds. If you are worried about security set up a new checking account and don't have any credit cards or bank lines associated with it. You will save much $$'s on cash advance fees and interest expense.

I understand the extra security with cash type transactions by the credit card companies. I had a credit card # stolen last week (from a vendor not in transmission) and it was caught when someone tried to use it and the company called me to confirm the order (which I hadn't placed).

With internet wagering there has been a rise in fraud and minors using credit cards. Some bank officials believe that many of the claims they get for
unauthorized use of card or stolen cards are merely gamblers using their card, losing their wagers and then claiming that the card was stolen or used by an unauthorzed minor. It gave the dishonest gambler an insurance policy where he was limited to a $50 dollar loss on the unauthorized use of the card and may have bet hundreds or thousands. This was becoming so frequent that it provided fuel for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. I do believe (althought I have no stats to back it up) that it was the casino and poker players who were the real culprits here.

Where's the card drawn from? USA?

Check all the details. Since not all AT and YB customer have to do a verbal verification I think it may be the bank. Where did you get the card? Local bank? Check with them, maybe they can adjust the card so Online transactions are'nt red flagged.

Before you do that...check this. Since these are electronic transactions its something that is triggering a denial. It can be something really benign.

Such as your Credit card reads as "Cosmo A. Kramer"

and your You bet account just has Cosmo Kramer.

It could be an inverted ZIP code, or you live at 123 Main street Apt 10, and they have it as 123 main street Apartment 10, or suite 10.

Everything has to exactly right......and if you have moved since you opened the account, that raises flags.

First thing though... Look at Credit card statement, and the verify with AT and YB that what they have in their system match's IDENTICAL!! To the DOT!

I will third the endorsement for EZMONEY on the Americatab affiliates. The reason that a credit card is usually declined when you do that is because they don't allow gambling transactions. Some banks will allow them, so will not. It is best to call your CC company and find out their policy on that. I know that my credit union will not allow gambling transactions with my VISA debit card. Sky Banks VISA debit card DOES allow gambling transactions, or at least the last time that I tried it they did. I mostly just use the EZMONEY now though.

As others have mentioned, if you want to use the EZMONEY but don't feel safe, set up a checking account specfically for the horse racing accounts, and don't have anything else affiliated with that account.

We're looking to set-up an on-lie money transfer service for our wagering website. I don't have much experience with any of them but it sounds like we should go with EZ Money based on the feedback here.

I never used a credit card to fund any wagering accts. I think Suff may know more on this, but I believe it is a state law here in Mass., that credit cards can not be used for gambling. Like I said, not sure on this, but had someone mention this to me before. Maybe your state has a law that the bank co. (CC) has to verify personally with the customer. I do what is said earlier, checking acct transfers, one acct soley for wagering, for ubet. No more pinny :(

Yup. However, PTC was making it seem as though EZMoney were some sort of broadly used service (kind of like Neteller), and I was just trying to point out that EZMoney was most likely a BRIS-only service....and, as you rightly point out, each online company seems to have their own....

Perhaps I was misreading PTC's post...not that important anyway...
