They will still honor your acct. They just won't transfer anything to anything that has to do with gambling.

US Member Update
Effective Immediately

Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.

All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

From thier site.

They also say that they will not be accepting any new US customers even for non gambling transactions. Why is that?

The two founders have been arrested. Are they to do a deal and let them go IF they supply the account details to them of all US accounts?

They cant legally force them to give account details, so lets use the bullying tactics instead.

Let the witch hunt begin.

UPDATE

neteller is saying that withdrawals may take up to 3 weeks. I called them to inquire about a request made on Tuesday morning. The request was entered before they decided to stop transferring funds.

Does anyone have any info?.

Thanks

I'm a Canadian resident. I just got an email from racebook ALLHORSERACING.COM (I haven't bet at that site in awhile). They have decided to stop taking NETELLER payments from Canadians too.

When I asking them for a reason, all they gave me were 'REASONS THAT SOUND GOOD', instead of 'GOOD SOUND REASONS'.

I sent an email back to them and told them that at the NETELLER site there are no restrictions to Canadians for money transfers. ALLHORSERACING.COM replied back with a bunch of alibis and excuses.

Then, I sent another email back to ALLHORSERACING.COM ...here's part of the email I sent back to them:

" In my opinion, your company is being intimidated by the bullying tactics of the U.S. Government. No problem. I'll just take my business to another racebook, that refuses to be a milquetoast or wimp to the U.S. Government and who know NETELLER will still serve Canadian customers".

--The more I think of it, I think PA was right in his recent post, where he's guessing that the anti-gambling bill passed by your U.S. Government is all about MONEY. I'm guessing one reason is, the U.S. Government caved in to pressure from U.S. racetrack executives and horsemen, in order to prosper these two parties by forcing more bettors to bet into U.S. parimutuel pools. Okay, I can understand that part. But, only if there will be a benefit as well to beleagured bettors for example, in the form of legiislated track takeout reductions.

Actually this bill has nothing to do with horse racing.

LINROM:

Okay, I've heard another story that the anti-gambling bill was passed in ordered to protect more U.S. citizens from losing their homes, life savings etc. by not being able to bet online at offshore and U.S. casino sites.

Plus, l wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. racetracks and horsemen were involved in lobbying the U.S. Government to pass a bill that would hinder online betting at offshore racebooks.

So, that being said...have you got an official statement from the U.S. Government stating what their intent was on this anti-gambling bill, or are you just guessing like me what it's all about?

Thanks,
