Of course, you don't need to ask. Andy did help me clean up the first one after you posted it, so if you could post the edited version, I'd appreciate it.

Best line: I'm no Ann Landers

I see the word unbettable used in gambling parlance but I still object as it ain't no word.

Again from a winning player to dish out articles about how to win at the races the article is A-1. Of course, since I've not picked a single pick four this year at the Big A, and my subscription is temporarily used up for the month, this weekend I am going to have to decipher your figures to pick a great pick four. On occassion during these contest, the Breeders Cup, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, the Belmont....etc. I have attempted to use your numbers. Not that I've done great, but just as well as if I was handicapping myself.

Nice! Excellent stuff on spending some dough to make your life easier when capping.

Next time let's hear some philosophical approaches and less technical stuff.

I know you are a technical capper, I have seen it. But isn't there some philosophical guidelines that aren't on paper? I mean your own bias against certain types of races you don't ever play etc?

I remember posts from you about why the hell people are playing certain races and such. I am just as interested in that stuff..............fyi

Suggestion: Make the phrase "my first article", in the first sentence, a hot link back to the first article -- for readers who might have missed that one.

I agree with the part about starting with no more than $200, and in fact recommend that horseplayers keep about that much around to bet with at any given time, since as long as their edge is still intact, they can regrow it.

Who wants to lose more than that in a day anyway?

I don't know about the 200 dollars myself. It seems like it might be too easy to bottom out with that little. Obviously, if your money is falling in a stable fashion or drops like a stone, it might point to the overall pattern, but I think 500 or 1000 might be necessary to let some successful strategies shine through.

nice article CJ:ThmbUp:

A person could start his (or her) education with your first two articles. A terrific foundation with a realistic way of thinking. Took me many years to really learn these lessons.

Fine job

CJ,

I like the fact that your article was quick and to the point. I can tell it was based on personal experience and not some dribble that was used to fill space. Keep up the good work as you are one major contributor to a sport without a future. Hopefully, your posts will encourage youngsters to dabble in the Sport of Kings.

What's your source for this prognostication?

With the advent of casinos and the younger generations, us loyalists face an uphill battle. While many of us grew up with racing in the family, I can't see the geeky computer nerd steering away from World of Warcraft and Myspace. Call me shortsighted but I can't see a way to gain new blood without killer web apps. The younger generation is not easily entertained.
