To shed a little light on the race, these were my last out Beyer style speed figures for the "horses" in this race:

-1, 0, -22, -42, -6 (winner), -4, and 14. Obviously the 14 was the heavy favorite, but after that, a total crapshoot.

With all the construction going on at Penn Nat you can't watch the races

live there right now. Maybe its a good thing :bang:

No not pa breds buddah I hit the race bc i keyed the 1 who had actually only beaten the 5 by 4 lengths when they last run against each other. This was the worst race i had ever seen but the 2 horses they bet both were quitters and the 1 and the 5 are the only ones who had shown an ability to pass. The 7 had two thirds in a row but was now being ridden by strunk and her first 5 races she was beaten 20 -40 lengths. Not a standout at all. How bout the idiot that bet 15000 to show on the 7. I believe Lil Red had the best beyer in the field with a 54 :D . The 6 & 7 was a 35.

You could say that about any trainer in the race. I believe the best was the at 7 for 153. Also None of the horses were really close in any of their races. The 1 got beat 3 lengths a few back but that was sprinting.

Nice Pick 3 payoff of $179.40 on the $2 ticket.

The winners paid
$27.20
$7.40
$59.60

That Pick 3 is even more interesting considering that no one had the 6th, 7th, and 8th race Pick 3, with winners paying:
$7.40
$59.60
$5

Certainly hittable, right---except everyone left out the 0 for 77 Zippy Chippy wannabe. Yet the other Pick 3 is hit and pays only $179. Hmm....;)

The 7th through 9th race Pick 3, with winners paying:
$59.60
$5
$8

was hit and paid $2081.

You never let a RED horse go........ :)

Those prices all seem out of wack, but it is a small pool type place. I played it last night for a couple of races, then quit. It was a long time since I played there.

That 6-8 P3 made me sick......... the pool was about 4000 grand.........There were 3 horses that were covered the 1,2,5, however the morning line fav was not.

I know everyone has probaby been unable to sleep waiting this info. The winning Beyer, a 2!

The worst part is it was projected to a 2. If the variant from the other routes was used, it would have been a -12.

Hey cj, has Beyer ever published a negative # for a winner? I don't recall

I don't think so, and may be why the race was given a 2.

8yo maiden. You know thats against the law in most states? I think in NY the oldest you can run a MDN is 5YO. Nothing 6 and up. I think its but a few states that even allow 8Y0 Maidens.

Pretty sad excuse for a horse race. At a track owned by a publicly traded company , makes it an amplified sad. A race like that is one step above cock fighting on the "gambling product" spectrum.

As a matter of fact, I did NOT play this race. There wasn't much going on as far as racing goes, so I took a look at maybe playing the late P3. When I saw the results, it pretty much killed any chance that I will ever bet another nickle at that track.

The point of my post is basically that if you offered me 150 to 1 on that runner I wouldn't have taken it. Whoever had win money on that winner collected on an underlay, IMHO.

Yes - used to be not all that common at FL to have races with every sinlge horse having a "Beyer Bagel" ( a 0 fig) - back when they figs first appeared in the DRF.
Befroe that, when I bought them from BRIS, 0 maiden fillies winners was not unknown.

BSF winner of 2. Cool.

I think this tracks business motto, along with lots of others these days, is just to just run cheap claimers and slow maidens to fill up the races as an excuse to have slot machines. The stock mkt really approves of this concept, this company is a big winner. Pretty sad.....have to follow the money to get this straight....the thing is, once the slot machines are in, the races dont even matter, just the pretense keeps the ball in the air for the parties involved .........

Congrats on not wasting your time hcpg these tracks, stick w the majors and GL to you.

I guess it is "to each his own"! These are my kind of horses to bet on. Then again, I learned handicapping playing races at Trinity Meadows outside of Ft.Worth. There were plenty of races where all the horses in the field had zero Beyers!

Now that would be something to see. A negative 12 WINNING beyer. I am guessing that race won't be a key race. :D

Well, it can be a negative key race. When that horse runs back showing a mighty figure of 2, you can confidently bet against knowing it should really be a -12.:p

The pools are really down at Penn National with all the construction going on.. You won't find any monster exotics.

Those show payouts are sick though. Poor sap who had the 7.. :D
