Handi's Sam Houston race by race 1-06

Back again for an evening of winners, I hope. We are going to take on Sam Houston tonight. Again we will most likely be making overlaid win bets, but I may put a few ex boxes in too.

This is my 4th night. To recap...1st night at Pen...78% ROI, then at Charles Town I believe we finished with 23% ROI. Then last night at Charles Town again, we finished -1.1%. Had I not been chicken in the 9th race and had bet our selections, we would have finished with a positive 10% ROI.

So anything is possible tonight. I am mixing up tracks to see if my programs will work at a mix of tracks.

So the first is in about 20 mins. Righ now the 2 is a giant fav and one of our selections. As we get closer we will see what we ca do in this opener at Houston.

The 2 looks like a monster here. But we will take the 2 on with the 3,7.


While an arguement for skipping this race could easily made, we will step in harms ay and bet 3-7 to win.

The 2 was for real. But that starts our selections off with a winner. Of course a blind squirrel could have seen how good that horse was matched against that company.

Next race presents us with 2 underlays and a real longshot. We'll buck up and play the longshot here, but I will add a show bet on another horse that pops up on my screen as having a chance.

4-9-7..win bet on the 7 and a show bet on the 8 just for fun.

The show bet was on the 3 not the 8. But now it has dropped below m show requirements, so the show bet is off. But te 9 is now overlaid so we will bet it and the 7.

If this is going to be anight of favs we are screwed. The 10 here looks again like a giant.

Last race we said the 3 looked like it had a chance. Apparently it did..LOL.

Well we missed our first winner tonight. Ole Sam is not treating us very well so far. But on to the next one.

7-4-1....1 is an underlay and we will bet win on 7-4

Also think we will ex box the 10-4. The ex's will stand seperate of our win bets.

So far we are getting our ass handed to us. But we will press on. The ex didn't workout, but we had the 10 there, for whatever that is worth.

Another underlay finishes first. So we did not cash one ticket tonight. Worse day I have had in over 4 months.


Not sure what we had out, but I can say our ROI is -100%. Mamma said there'd be days like this......:mad:

That's right Handiman, tomorrow is another day. Doesn't sound like you would let this get to you, and mama was right! I ended this past year in the worst rutt (about 3wks), so, time to take it easy and come back strong.

Thanks Big. I really appreciate the kind words. One thing about handicapping. When you develop your own systems and turn them into computer programs, you have invested so much of yourself into them, that when a fire breaks out like last night, you can easily be devastated. It tears up the ego along with the bankroll.

But my definition of a pro, is one who can take a day like yesterday in stride, not destroy their bankroll, and come back even stronger. Now for the comeback. I don't think it will be at Sam Houston though...:bang:
