Tough to see those B-Days way down yonder on the page.

Others include:
Joan of Arc
Carl Sandburg
Danny Thomas
Sun Myung Moon
Nancy Lopez

Happy 56 D Schwartz!

May I recomend an evening @ The Ciera Steak House in the Montbleu Resort. Start things out with the lobster tempura with sweet ginger jam moving next to the hazelnut-crusted sea bass and finishing with the 32-ounce rib-eye followed by a 19 hour nap. Enjoy.

Mack,

Thank you for the birthday wish.

I am petitioning my wife as I write this to reconsider the dinner venue but, alas, I know it is hopeless for tonight as I am simply not feeling well enough for a 90-minute drive (with the weather) each way.

However, I am commiting to giving "Howie's place" a try in the very near future.

BTW, next time you are "in the neighborhood," try this little sleeper place, the Sole Domain on the North Shore of Tahoe. Just phenomenal food.

Just got off the horn with the owner Charles Soule who runs the joint with his brother Stephen. Nice chap. It's been voted "Best Place to Take a Date" 13 years in a row - Don't tell your wife.

You guys are all too funny.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

And, Mack, that place is just a great little secret. Don'y go over-publicizing - it is hard enough to get a seat now. If you do go there, just make sure you request a seat far away from the fire place. It can just be amazingly hot.

Tom,

If you ever get west, I will have my wife make you some of her amazing seafood gumbo. As much as I like chowder there is just nothing like this.

She starts with a basic gumbo recipe then adds 2 pounds of BIG shrimp, a bunch of clams (instead of mussels), the meat from a couple of Dungeoness crabs and some sausage. That feeds 4 people.

OK, you guys! That did it! I'm going around the corner to the converted Taco Bell to have some of their 7 fish stew. No where near the class as some of the places described but good eats nonetheless.

Oh, ya, and happy natal day to Dave!
