I like the 8. For a ticket maker, the 2. Last seen at this level, he was 6-1 and ran like 60-1 and was claimed. June 06., going a mile. Now he's got muddied up lines, with a mix of Grass and Dirt, Alw , Hdcp and Clmr's in his last 5. He shortens up to 3/4'rs.... He's popping and stopping, and wore wraps last out. He's not pretty, but if you look at whose taken the call, its a tell. Zimmerman, whose on the 10, saw fit to get on the 2, in two of his last 4 starts. I'll bet he's 25-1 or better. Inside, saves ground, gets trip, makes the ticket and makes the ticket. 2 for 4 itm at the Distance and is getting 7 pounds.
10's the one to beat, Zimmerman took off the 3 ( 5-1 ) for the ride.
I like the 8-10-2 in no particular order.
1-7-10, no order, but 1 looks inviting.

I'll go with Tom, here. The 1 shows a little more speed to me, falls under a longshot angle I like, big m/l, and he's only 6 1/2 :D

I've seen a lot of wacky conditions in my day (ie: horses in race to be ridden by girl jockeys only, horse must be a gray to enter, etc) but have never seen 7 year olds and up-must be a little New Year's Day promo...LOL:)

Calder had the Methuselah Handicap on "Extreme Day"...I think that was 5 or 6 year olds and up. This is a new one for '07. :)

I just finished looking over this race, it seems obvious to me. I am going with the 7 to win, 7-8 exacta, 7-8-3 tri, and 7-8-3-10 super (All straight)
P.S. Yes, I'm the first redboarder of 2007!

Just another example of the track booking a race based on the horses on site. I often use the conditions as a guide to look for that horse that meets all the conditions of the race. Works more times than I thought it would.
