I don't have TVG, but you can always do what my father does, MUTE IT! He can stand most of them, and that will solve the music problem. :)

Wow, what a relief this has been the last few days. I wonder why someone would not be smart enough to have a racing like TVG is today - with no talk jockeys.

Philly Park has the right idea for their TV show ... just have the host announce the scratches, changes, payoffs, etc. and then play music until post time. I don't need analysis of the Beulah card, for instance, from hosts who don't know crap about that circuit. Same thing with Philly ... they make me laugh when they try and give educated guesses as to who will win on the Mon. and Tues. cards. And Matt Carothers and his :59 Flat show should be deep-sixed ... those phone calls he takes from admiring handicappers turns my stomach.

Merry Christmas!

only issue is the music which sucks, and the repeat scenes at f.g.

It's boring as hell watching horse races on TV without some human interpretation.
Do you guys ever pull yourselves away from the TV/computer and go to the track/otb ? Try it, you may like it....it's a social event( i.e. other people in your midst) that makes racing much more exciting and interesting. Lighten up.
Merry Christmas

. I don't need analysis of the Beulah card, for instance, from hosts who don't know crap about that circuit.

The Beulah girls are semi-trackies, one having been a Mutual Teller before being discovered by the G.M. They are now doing their own picks, as they were scripted by a ghost capper initially.

I know the camera adds 10 lbs., but they better spend less time in the Beulah cafeteria and get to the gym a lot more in 2007.

looks like they need a series of 7 furlong workouts, followed by a 3 furlong blowout.

 perhaps changing their diet to include more roughage such
as losing tickets could help

At least one of them gets it. I appreciate her picks, but her clevage is what I really tune in to watch.

I'm thinking of getting direct tv so I can get tvg. Is it worth it? Some help would be nice. Right now I watch races on computer using cbs sports.com

TVG and HRTV both hop around a lot and pat themselves on the back and don't always show the post parade. It's probably a much better picture than on the computer, but the computer provides complete coverage of an individual track.

I have Dish Network with interactive TV and I can get the payoffs, will pays, odds, etc. on the TV through TVG (without being a member of an affiliated betting service). That's a good feature.

 Tis the Season to be Jolly! IMO, the Twins are less than friendly, also opinion of a few at Beulah. They have lost a lot of luster since Playboy did a shoot of them about 4 years ago. It never made the national magazine, but some of the pics used to be on their webpage.
