I know this isn't about handicapping, and I know I don't post a lot, but I do enjoy reading all of your comments on this site, and I do appreciate the responses I got to my TPR question a while back.
Anyway, I wish all of you a most happy holiday season and a happy new year.

What's a TPR question? I intend to party starting tomorrow night. Low key, but party anyway. mmarkon let Tom be your mentor. Post more. Do you think class is an important factor, and why doesn't anyone measure it right (or can it be measured right?) ... Merry Christmas.

TPR refers to Total Pace Ratings. This is an old method that was partof the Sartin Methodology. I've been trying it and my results are very good. It's a pencil and paper thing - no computer, which is fine because any computer program I've ever used, always made me look for the one "magic" number.
About class, Doc Sartin and Jim Bradshaw talked about APV, average purse value. The higher the APV, the higher the class. But, they also felt that the faster the horse, the higher the class, and vice versa.

Happy holidays to everyone.

Diane, wish John the best on his return to work! Tell him to save enough of that paycheck to buy you a couple of plane tickets to Saratoga as an early Christmas present next fall.

To M. Markon,

I say to you and others, stop giving into the nonsense that some politicians and corporate executives have tried to foist on us the last few years on greetings this time of year. These characters say we shouldn't say "Merry Christmas", because it might offend some peope who don't celebrate Christmas. Too bad! I'm not going to change my traditions because these authoritative people think I should. It's "Merry Christmas"...get it right!

The great countries of Canada and the United States of America were founded on Bible-based truths and principles. This time of year is to celebrate the birth of Christ, and to say "Merry Christmas", not the generic, wimpy, politically-correct "Happy Holdays". So, I got that off my chest. To the Pace Advantage members I wish you a ""Merry Christmas".

If he/she doesn't want to say Merry Christmas, so be it. It's is pretty pathetic you are so interested in controlling what other people say. You don't want anyone to tell you what to say...practice what you preach.

Guy wishes you good tidings, and you show up with this bs.

Chickenhead,

It's not BS....that's just your opinion.. Speaking of opinions, I think I speak the truth.

Merry Christmas every one! Hope this year was a good one, and the next even better. This past year was a good one for me, and looking forward to an even better 2007.

Tell us, shepards, what have you seen? Who has appeared on earth?
We have seen a newborn infant and a choir of angels, praising the Lord, alleluia.

Merry Christmas

and a Happy New Year to all.

Funny.

Yea, happy Holidays, Merry Christmas? wtf's the difference. I say them both. Whatever comes to mind.

If anything, I'm feeling pressure to say MC more because I see all these people crying about how I'm using the wrong salutation. Has anyone here been told by a neighbor or friend to say Happy Holidays in place of Merry Christmas?

Has Trying2Win gotten something in the mail? Or been told by his boss not to use MC? Or is there pressure in his inner circle to use Happy Holidays?

As far as a company advising employees to use generic holiday greetings? So what? The world isn't coming to end over it. Very very minor thing. Certainly not something to jump over a well intended Holiday wish from the thread starter. Not very Christian like either.

trying2win- One of the defining elements of our country is religious freedom. It's been a long time since high school and I haven't done the quick research on this BUT somewhere in The Constitution, Declaration Of Independance, The Bill Of Rights, etc. is the ability to celebrate whatever religion we would like. How else could Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddists, Hindus, Atheists, Mormons, "Moonies", et. al. all celebrate their religions without fear of prosecution? (Sorry to leave anyone out! Not done on purpose <img> I didn't want to spend long on this reply).

BTW, My preference is Merry Christmas (and I hope that everyone was able to celebrate with family, friends, strangers in a meaningful way. If I KNOW someone is Jewish, I will wish them a Happy Hanukah. If I am wished a Happy Hanukah, I don't get offended and return the greeting.
