__________
Equibase shows Mitchell's wins at the last 2 meets:12 for 68 at DM and 11 for 78 at SA.
Others do get caught, but suspensions are so rare in Ca you do not hear about many violations.
Ca may be reporting more and suspending more right now due to media exposure, but that is just my guess.

According to Mitchell (from an interview on one of the radio shows):
Mitchell's regimen when he gets a horse new to his barn is to have its blood checked and then his vet prescribes a program of vitamin supplements to restore/maintain the proper balance of blood cells. I think there is a connection between red-blood cells and the blood's oxygen carrying capacity.
I don't remember him saying anything about the CO2 count. :)

Let's add the "vitamin supplements" to the list of excuses given throughout the years for drug positives and/or giant step-ups in performance of their stable. So we have
Mitchell: Vitamin supplements
Oscar B: Blinkers
Mike Gill: Specialty hay he feeds combined with complete dental exam
Dutrow: Deep muscle rubs and back treatments from Dr. Allday
Those are the only ones I can recall, I hope others will add to this list.
