Just wondered what happened last night at TP? Bris has 1 race in chart?

Poly meltdown, or the same problem as the weekend?

I never understood why tracks can’t/don’t/won’t put the reason for the cancellation in the chart – along with all the other comments.

Technically, the cancellation is not part of the race record.

Reasons should be given, just like real sports.

Good point but why can't equibase report, they're the ones with all the info from all tracks?

I had always checked the scratch/changes page for the host track website to find why there might have been problems. The internet is creating a large demand for information in an instant.

Before the tracks used websites effectively we had to call the scratchline by an old dial face land line telephone. Turfway was good about posting a late cancellation. AQU was not as good in providing cancellation info the same day, as I can remember.

Often it was three days of waiting for the DRF and charts to find out why any odd circumstance had occured over the weekend, no matter which track you followed.

Thanks for the link NJ, I had not seen it from the menus there before. I noticed that the list goes back two years now!!

I LOVE that Equibase keeps available to us a running tab of the cancellations and the reported reasons for them but they are often not posted until the next day. The charts, however, are usually up very quickly after a race is over. Since the chart callers are employees of Equibase, why not throw us a bone and put the reason in the chart even though it’s technically not part of the race record?
