As a lifetime KC Chiefs fan, I was saddened to hear of the passing of a true visionary, Lamar Hunt. See his accomplishments below. They were many and if you are a fan of the NFL, he is a major reason it is what it is today! Boom

Mr. Hunt was a tremendous asset to the game of professional football. He will be sadly missed.

===

With regard to his team, using the "win one for the Gipper" adage, I'd be picking K.C. plus the 9.5 points this Sunday night in San Diego.

The Chiefs will not go on national TV after their owner has passed away and "lay down" for the prematurely anointed Chargers.

I think K.C. (who has already beaten S.D. once this season) has a great chance to win outright.

Remember San Diego's last home game? The Raiders were leading in the 4th quarter with just 10 minutes left 14-7.

(That foolish "incomplete forward pass" call the ref made after a clear live ball fumble saved the mighty Bolts.)

Too many points, and now, too many valid reasons for the Chiefs not to excel. Do it for Mr. Hunt, guys! :ThmbUp:

Pony: As a diehard Chiefs fan, I really try to exercise a little extra dose of self control when it comes to betting on them...But I agree that 9.5 seems like an awful lot of points in a must game for them after their beloved owner died..Herm Edwards talked about him this morning and although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hunt, by all accounts he was one of the nicest, caring and most humble gentleman you could ever meet! I believe Mr. Hunt, with some help from his daughter, is responsible for the name "Super Bowl". There are no two bigger words in sports.

You are correct cj-He got the idea from his daughter playing with a super ball! Boom

This guy was a friend to Columbus Ohio. He put tons of money into the Columbus Crew Soccer franchise. Hell of a nice guy while doing it too. I have some friends who spent some time with him and they said you wouldn't know he was a rich s.o.b. and that reflects well on him in my book.
